Traditionally, word "pasta" means macaroni products, which are made from the composition of wheat flour and water (or wheat flour, water and eggs) and also dishes made from these products. Today pasta from exotic kinds of flour is very popular: gram, buckwheat, rye, barley flour and also from crude flour with bran.

It is not knowing definitely when people started to made pasta as well as bread. But both pasta and bread are results of work with dough. Moreover process of work with dough differs not principally from each other.
Italians invented large diversity of pasta. And they are proud of this! Italians are also called "macaronis".

Don't be afraid of varicolored pasta! Unusual coloration is added to pasta by natural coloring matters but not by artificial colorants. For example, green or pasta verde extracts from spinach, red or pasta rossa — from carrot or tomatoes, violet or pasta viola - from beetroot, orange or pasta arancione - from pumpkin, black or pasta nera - from ink of calamary or devil fish.

For Italians pasta is separate dish but essential addition to it is sauce. Pasta has its own classical sauces: tomato, cheese, pesto, Bolognese etc.
Dishes from pasta are tasty, nice and easy in cooking. Pasta can be staffed, stewed or roasted. The most suitable products for pasta are tomatoes, onion, squashes, cauliflowers,  mushrooms, garlic, basil, pepper, lemons, cheeses, cream, eggs and seafood. If combine these products against each other it is possible to cook countless number of dishes. It is simply good to eat pasta only with olive oil, seasonings and herbs.
